PHONOLOGY
Phonology is the study of language that studies the sound of phonemes produced by human utterances, thus forming a word. Therefore phonology is seen as a branch of study that investigates the "minimal difference" between speech utterances.
Example:
money and honey
M in the word money and h in the word honeymoon, are different phonemes.
If the two words are observed, the different ones are only the sounds of M in the Money word and the sound H in the word Honey
Other examples include:
right and light
Sad and bad
Long and song
Chin and thin
Discussion:
The phonological system of a language includes
- an inventory of sounds and their features, and
- rules which specify how sounds interact with each other.
Phonology is just one of several aspects of language. It is related to other aspects such as phonetics, morphology, syntax, and pragmatics.
That was the explanation of the meaning of PHONOLOGY
Thank's 😊
Ntah lah
BalasHapusapa perbedaan phonology dan phonetic ?
BalasHapusFor Phonetics, the science that investigates how sound is produced by the mouth, nasal (nasal sounds), throat, and so forth. So it's more about learning audible sounds, and has nothing to do with the meaning of sounds produced (the meaning of the sound produced).
HapusWell, if it's Phonology, science studies both sound and its meaning. So this Phonology 'explores' the difference when a sound is produced and how if the sound is produced is slightly different it will change the meaning of the sound. For example the words "sin" and "seen", both are pronounced differently, and of course the meaning is different.
thank you for your explanation, but, what is the connection between the phonetic and phonology?
HapusPhonetics and phonology are the sciences that both examine sound.

BalasHapusapakah phonology hanya membahas tentang bunyi?
BalasHapusno. phonology is not only about sound. but also discusses the history of a language. How the language can appear and disappear. In studying a language you will certainly face this one science because phonology studies the mechanism of a language clearly.
Hapuswhat are the benefits in daily life
Hapusthe benefit for daily life is to learn how the human organs work, especially those related to the use of language.
Hapuswhat organs?
Hapusthe speech organ is the mouth
Hapustongue?
HapusMakan daging anjing dengan sayur kol koll kolll kolll kolll
BalasHapusMakan daging anjing dengan sayur kol koll kolll kolll kolll kolll kolll kolll kolll kolll kolll
BalasHapusWhy phonology is several aspect of language linguistic ?
BalasHapusbecause phonology studies, examines, and analyzes language sounds which are part of the linguistic field as well
Hapusgreatly adds to my knowledge
BalasHapusOhh thankyou brother
HapusWhy we must learning about phonology?
BalasHapusbecause by learning phonology we can easily learn a language because phonology is an important part of sound or sound in the pronunciation of language so we are not easily mistaken in understanding a language
HapusI can't read this terrible piece. There is plagiarism, and there is blatant copying. You didn't even adjust the format, it's like trying to read cockcroaches caged by lime green box
BalasHapusgive me more examples of phonology
BalasHapusAnother example:
HapusSee and Sea
Kiss and Kill
But and Bit
Pat and Pad
Pick and Pack
Cut and Cat
why you choose phonology?
BalasHapusbecause in phonology there is a discussion about how a language can appear and disappear, and I want to know how a language can appear

Does emphasis depend on segmentical or letters / symbols used?
BalasHapusYes ofcourse
Hapuswhy phonology is related to how to pronounce a language
BalasHapusbecause phonology is related to how to pronounce a language
HapusSo phonology is study about phonemes ? What is phoneme ? Can yoy explain it clearly ?
BalasHapusOkee
HapusPhoneme: Phone + me is the smallest part of (sound) that distinguishes between one word and another. For example in the words "Big" and "Bag", i and a are phoneme.
Another example:
See and Sea
Kiss and Kill
But and Bit
Pat and Pad
Pick and Pack
Cut and Cat
Great
BalasHapusThank u
Hapusas a teacher, how to bring the phonology theory into class that we teach?
BalasHapusas teachers we teach phonology to students to learn sound or sound rules and ways
Hapusproduce it properly and correctly
is there a part of phonology? if any please give explain about it.
BalasHapusI found no part of phonology novita

Hapushello ega 👋 I'm Lia silveria 😊 i have seen your presentation about phonology, right? your presentation it's so simple and very brief and can also understand 😊😊 but not interesting 🙈🙈 I'm so sorry 🙏 but I'm seriously 😑😑 and we discuss the same topic 😊😊
BalasHapushello ega 👋 I'm Lia silveria 😊 hope you don't get bored seeing my comments okay 😊😊 here I want to ask you, what is the reason you chose this topic as your presentation material? there are still many other materials in linguistics. so why does it have to be this? can you explain to me? thanks ega 🙏 have a nice day 😇
